Our Story
Mzuri Organics line of products include organic biofertilizers in liquid and solid forms and insect and worm-based protein animal feed. We specialize in the bioconversion of organic waste with a communal business model directly involving more than 200 smallholder farmers in the production chain. Further, we enable technology-based regenerative practices that utilize instant soil testing and customized fertilizer hybridization methodologies.
Land degradation disrupts rainfall patterns, exacerbates extreme weather like droughts or floods, and drives further climate change, resulting in social and political instability, which drives poverty, conflict, and migration. According to UNCCD, our current agricultural practices are causing soils worldwide to be eroded up to 100 times faster than natural processes replenishing them. It is also true that poverty and hunger are most acute among rural populations which majorly comprises smallholder farmers, who are responsible for production of more than 70% of global food supplies.
Increasing human population, dwindling land productivity and the changing climate patterns are enough justification for a change in the approach we partake in agricultural activities, and the new norm must be a regenerative form of production that is not only sustainable but also beneficial in the form of promoting the resilience to the smallholder farmer who bears the biggest burden of feeding the world.
